VSL - Sometimes less is more

VSL

Does anyone these days still subscribe to Newsletters?
Very Short List (VSL).

In their own words:

Very Short List (VSL) is a free, daily e-mail newsletter that points to excellent new (and sometimes vintage) entertainment, media, and cultural things that haven’t been hyped to within an inch of their lives. […] The focus is on cultural products that really deserve attention but haven’t already been subject to giant media pile-ons.

Recent items I received and truly enjoyed include:
Coldplay cover by a group of senior citizens
Streaming live concert archives from The Cure, Elvis Costello and many others
Notes on a scandal

Why is this Newsletter compelling?
to you is a challenge. searches are great for data but don’t work well for finding and recommending digital entertainment. Other popular ways of selecting items like the “wisdom” of crowds (e.g., digg) quickly become a race to the lowest common denominator in order to attract pageviews.

Going forward, online taste-makers or curators will become increasingly relevant.
here.

If you like it, you will come with me to the conclusion that in digital media and entertainment sometimes less is more.
