The politics of online live video streaming

Posted by: Juan Lopez-Valcarcel In: Internet| Movies & TV

Tonight I am trying to follow primary election results online as my cable box from Time Warner keeps rebooting itself.

I am disappointed to see that CNN.com is not broadcasting the same feed as they do on TV, I miss the “best political team in TV” :-)

Instead they have a rather boring online-only live feed with different presenters. Surprisingly, you can follow the CNN TV audio from their website here.

So I ended up watching the live stream at MSNBC.com, which has exactly the same feed as TV, exactly what I was looking for! Happy to see MSNBC delivering what users might want rather than a diluted experience. [disclosure: I work for NBC Universal].

The laptop is the second screen and sometimes the first in our living room. The day when it will replace the TV permanently are not too far off… and today I did not miss my Time Warner cable box for a second.
