Advertising in videogames - a bright new future?

Subway

Nearly half of heavy Gamers felt that in-game advertising was an inevitable part of the future of their play.

In this environment, it should come as no surprise that E3, the main videogames trade show has become the stomping ground of major advertisers

For other types of entertainment (TV, radio) consumers are willing to pay extra to avoid advertising (e.g. VOD/DVDs/Satellite Radio). Will there one day be a two-tier pricing system for videogames: with and without ads?

Still, I can’t help but wonder how large the in-game advertising pie can become until gamers decide they have had enough.
